Cochrane Saxberg’s Response to COVID-19

Cochrane Saxberg is taking all necessary precautionary measures to safeguard the health and safety of Manitobans, our staff and our clients as we continue to deal with the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

We have adopted a policy of maximum social distancing to lead by example to “flatten the curve” to avoid our healthcare system from being overburdened. Our other main focus is maintaining uninterrupted high quality legal services for our clients. Because of the nature of our work, the recent Court closure and the fact that our office is “on the cloud” and thus set up for remote work, we have instructed our lawyers and staff to work from home. We will not be conducting face to face meetings unless they are essential, rather, we are proceeding by teleconference or video conference to reduce prolonged close contact between individuals.

We are maintaining a skeleton workforce at our business locations to facilitate receipt of mail, couriered information and other important documentation. All workspaces in the offices are being routinely disinfected.  We are also disinfecting door handles, light switches, phones and any other frequently used surfaces and devices on a regular basis.  We are also providing alcohol-based hand sanitizers in multiple locations throughout the workplace.

We are limiting all non-essential travel and are requiring 14 day self isolation for any lawyers or staff who have traveled recently.

Please continue to check our website for updates and please do not hesitate to contact your lawyer if you have any questions or concerns.
