Krista Klassen



Krista practices in the areas of labour and employment law and human rights law. She has experience providing advice to both employees and employers in unionized and non-unionized settings.

Krista has experience in matters before the Manitoba Labour Board, grievance arbitrations, human rights complaint and adjudication processes, collective bargaining and wrongful dismissal litigation. Krista also provides advice with respect to collective agreement interpretation, discipline and termination matters, employment contracts, workplace policies, legislative compliance (employment standards and workplace safety and health), and workplace investigations. Krista also has extensive experience in providing employers and employees with advice regarding accommodations and human rights concerns.

Prior to joining Cochrane Saxberg, Krista spent three years working as in-house counsel for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and Shared Health Inc. where she practiced exclusively labour and employment law, providing legal advice and strategic labour relations support to all levels of the organizations, including human resources professionals, management and members of the organizations’ executive teams.   Prior to going in-house, Krista articled and worked as an associate lawyer at a mid-sized firm in Winnipeg where she practiced labour and employment law, as well as civil litigation.
