Biography
Shameem graduated from University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Conflict Resolution Studies and went on to attend Law School at the University of Manitoba. She completed her articles at Legal Aid Manitoba and received her Call to the Bar in 2004. She then joined Legal Aid’s Child Protection Law Office in 2004 where she went on to spend 13 years, as a Staff Attorney and then as Supervising Attorney, representing primarily Indigenous clients in Child Protection proceedings in the Court of Queens Bench. Her involvement in high conflict cases over the last 15 years has given her significant experience in resolving cases, both in and outside of court.

Shameem also practises in the area of Labour and Employment and has provided legal advice and conducted hearings and adjudications for various employers. She enjoys working closely with Employers to identify and address issues in the workplace and create strategies and practices that meet the needs of the organization.
Shameem is committed to meeting the needs of her clients and being responsive to their issues and concerns.
Shameem was born and raised in Winnipeg but has travelled to and lived in different countries. Her travels have given her a unique perspective and she brings a passion for people to her practice. When she is not working, Shameem enjoys watching football and supporting the wide variety of small businesses in Winnipeg.
